Welcome to The Garden Room

We’re so glad you’re here.

Everything we create begins in the soil and follows the rhythm of the seasons. Step into the Garden Room, together we will tend our gardens, design wild and magical floral arrangements, and create beautiful and nourishing botanical products.

In the Garden Room we will be sharing:

• How to plant and care for what you’ve brought home
• Simple and maximalist bouquet recipes using seasonal flowers
• Ways to create with botanicals—from garden to home and table
• Notes from life at Bella Sera Farm

Garden Layout:

Before planting, take a moment to map out your space.

Choose your spot:
  • At least 6 hours of sun daily
  • Easy access to water
  • Well-draining soil
  • For best results, enrich your soil before planting.  We recommend mixing in our Story Garden Blend to support strong, healthy growth.
  • A space as small as 3' x 5' - along a driveway or garden edge is enough to grow a generous supply of cut flowers
  • Divide your space into three sections with the taller flowers in the back so they don't shade the rest. The middle row is for the medium-height flowers that will fill in, and the lower-growing varieties are best at the front.
  • This will make harvesting easier and keep the garden open and balanced

Planting Instructions:

Bouquet Garden Seed Mix:

A natural, easy approach for a cottage-style cut-flower garden.

  • Lightly scatter seeds across your prepared soil (Tall varieties in the back, medium in the middle, low-growing flowers in the front)
  • Gently press seeds into the surface (do not bury deeply)
  • Water softly to settle them in

Keep the soil consistently moist while the seeds germinate. As plants grow, thin lightly if needed to give them space to grow and thrive.

Cut Flower Seedling Mix:

A simple way to get a head start.

  • Lay out the seedlings with the tall varieties at the back, medium in the middle and the low-growing flowers in the front.
  • Space the seedlings 8 - 12" apart
  • Dig a small hole slightly larger than the pot
  • The pot is biodegradable. We recommend gently removing the bottom to allow the roots to get a head start
  • Place the seedling in the hole where the top of the soil in the pot is slightly higher than the existing garden soil level
  • Gently, first, the soil around it
  • Water well after planting

Plant in a loose grid or rows, allowing room for airflow and easy harvesting.

After Planting:
  • Water regularly, especially during the first few weeks
  • Keep the soil evenly moist as plants establish
  • Begin cutting flowers as they bloom to encourage continued growth.
